An image upscaler increases resolution while trying to preserve detail, edges, and overall clarity. That is useful when a screenshot, photo, thumbnail element, or product still needs a cleaner higher-resolution export.
For this first release, the tool stays intentionally conservative: one stable Topaz preset, a fixed 2x upscale, and a 48 MP output cap so requests stay inside the lower published pricing tiers rather than the largest outputs the API can produce.
The flow is still lightweight: upload once, preview the expected output size and current tier, upscale, and download the result when it looks good.

What does the cost wording mean?
fal prices this model by output megapixels, not just by the upload itself. Because 2x upscaling doubles both width and height, the output ends up with about 4x as many pixels as the source image.
How are costs kept lower here?
This first version uses one conservative Topaz preset and caps output at 48 MP, which keeps requests inside the lower published tiers instead of allowing the much larger outputs from the full model range.
What kind of image works best?
